Spiritual direction & Coaching

You don’t have to navigate every season alone

Sometimes what we need most is a spacious place to slow down, listen, and notice what God may be doing.

At other times, we need help clarifying what matters, making a decision, or turning insight into meaningful action.

Spiritual direction and coaching offer two different kinds of support.

  • Spiritual direction focuses primarily on attentiveness—creating space to notice God’s presence, listen deeply, and discern what may be stirring within and around you.

  • Coaching is more forward-focused—helping you clarify priorities, discern direction, and translate reflection into faithful action.

Both are grounded in reflection, prayerful attentiveness, and the belief that growth happens not simply through gaining information, but through becoming more aware, integrated, and responsive to God.

Spiritual Direction

Spiritual direction is not really about one person “directing” another.

God is the true spiritual director.

My role is to come alongside you as a sacred companion—to help create a spacious, trusted place where you can slow down, listen, notice, and attend more deeply to what God may be doing in your life.

Together, we may pay attention to the words you are using, the emotions beneath them, patterns that are emerging, images or dreams that stay with you, places of tension or longing, and subtle nudges you might otherwise miss. I may reflect back what I am hearing, ask questions, or simply help hold the silence long enough for you to notice what is happening within and around you.

My hope is that spiritual direction becomes a place where you can bring your whole self—your faith, leadership, questions, weariness, hopes, uncertainty, and ordinary life—and encounter God with greater freedom and attentiveness.

You do not have to arrive with the right words or a clear agenda. You simply come as you are, and together we listen.

One-on-One Spiritual Direction

Sessions are 50 minutes and offered by Zoom.

Because I keep my spiritual direction practice intentionally small, availability is limited. If my current openings are full, you may choose to join the waitlist or request a referral to a trusted spiritual director who may be available sooner.

Life to the Full Coaching

Coaching helps turn reflection into faithful action.

Life to the Full Coaching blends reflection with strategy. It is designed for leaders and others navigating questions of calling, transition, influence, purpose, and meaningful next steps.

Rather than offering many separate coaching programs, I currently focus on two primary areas.

Calling, Meaning & Transition

For seasons when something is changing—or needs to.

This coaching may be helpful if you are:

  • discerning a vocational or ministry transition

  • clarifying calling, purpose, or direction

  • weighing competing priorities or opportunities

  • trying to understand what matters most in this season

  • aligning your goals with your values and faith

  • seeking a clearer path forward without rushing the process

Together, we create space for reflection while also identifying practical next steps.

Second Chair Leadership

Lead faithfully, even when you’re not in charge

Second chair leaders often carry significant responsibility and influence without holding the primary leadership role.

This coaching is designed to help leaders navigate the unique opportunities and tensions of that position with wisdom, clarity, and resilience.

Areas we may explore include:

  • strengthening communication and trust with senior leaders

  • clarifying your leadership voice and contribution

  • navigating influence, loyalty, initiative, and boundaries

  • developing emotional and relational maturity

  • setting priorities that reflect both organizational mission and personal calling

  • discerning whether God may be calling you to thrive where you are or prepare for a future first-chair role

Second Chair Leadership Cohort — Coming Later

I previously created and led a 10-month cohort for second chair pastors and ministry leaders, creating space for leaders to grow, reflect, and thrive in roles where they carry significant influence without holding the first-chair position.

I hope to offer an updated cohort experience again in the future, designed to help second chair leaders strengthen their leadership, navigate the unique tensions of the role, and discern whether God may be calling them to continue flourishing where they are or prepare for a future first-chair role.

There is no start date yet, but if this sounds like something that could serve you, you can add your name to the interest list and be the first to hear when a future cohort is announced.

Not Sure What Kind of Support You Need?

You do not have to figure that out before reaching out.

If you’re unsure whether spiritual direction, coaching, a retreat, or another kind of support would be the best fit, you are welcome to begin with a simple inquiry. If I’m not the right person or do not have current capacity, I may be able to point you toward a trusted resource or practitioner who can help.

“From the Wellspring” is my occasional email with reflections, new resources, and updates about retreats and other opportunities for spiritual growth.
